ARM-Based Workstations Are Coming for the Professional Desktop Market

Apple proved that ARM processors could deliver workstation-class performance with the M-series chips. Now the rest of the industry is following. Qualcomm, NVIDIA, and MediaTek have all announced or shipped ARM-based processors targeting the professional desktop and workstation market, challenging the decades-long dominance of x86 architecture from Intel and AMD in the most demanding computing environments. The first wave of ARM workstations from major OEMs is arriving this spring, and early benchmarks suggest the performance claims are legitimate.
