Our Commitment
Verodate exists to provide accurate, fair, and substantive technology journalism to a global audience. Our reporting is guided by the standards outlined on this page. These standards apply to every article, review, and news item we publish.
Accuracy and Verification
Every factual claim in our articles is verified before publication. We use the following standards:
- Primary sources first. We cite company filings, official press releases, academic papers, and direct interviews wherever possible.
- Multiple confirmation. Breaking news claims are verified against at least two independent sources before publication.
- Expert review. Technical claims involving cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and scientific research are reviewed by qualified contributors or external subject-matter experts.
- Attribution. When we rely on reporting from other outlets, we credit them by name and link to the original.
Independence
Our editorial team operates independently of commercial considerations. Advertisers, affiliate partners, and sponsors have no influence over what we cover or how we cover it. We do not allow external parties to review or revise articles prior to publication.
Conflicts of Interest
Writers disclose any financial interest in the companies they cover. A reporter with direct equity, employment history in the last 24 months, or a close personal relationship with the subject of a story cannot be the lead author on that piece.
Use of Artificial Intelligence
Verodate uses AI tools to assist with research drafts, copyediting, and structural formatting. Every article is reviewed by a human editor before publication. AI is a tool, not a byline — our editors verify facts, sharpen arguments, and take responsibility for what appears on this site.
Sources and Anonymity
We prefer on-the-record sourcing. When a source requests anonymity to protect against retaliation or to discuss non-public matters, our senior editor must approve the request. The reasons for anonymity are always explained to the reader in the article.
Fact-Checking Process
Before an article is published it goes through:
- Self-review by the reporter with a source-verification checklist.
- Line-edit by a second editor.
- Final copy-edit and headline review.
Advertising and Sponsored Content
All sponsored content, affiliate links, and advertising are clearly labeled as such. Sponsored placements are typographically distinct from editorial and never use the same byline conventions as staff reporting. Our relationships with programmatic partners (including Google AdSense) do not shape editorial decisions.
Corrections
See our Ethics and Corrections Policy for how we handle errors, retractions, and reader complaints.
